In the previous location of Taste of Havana, Congas Cuban Café opened its doors September 17, with a new owner, Reynaldo Orellana. Congas features many of the same authentic, savory Cuban dishes.

Daily lunch specials are offered Monday through Friday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Each lunch special includes white rice, black beans, and fried plantains, and the price and taste can't be beat! If you're in the mood for a sandwich, Congas Cuban Café offers six Cuban sandwiches. Each sandwich is made with the famous Cuban bread known as Pan Cubano. Sandwiches remain on the menu all day.

Iglesias Enterprises also presents a wide range of entrees, including “Cuban Specials” (such as Oxtails in Wine Sauce, Palomilla Steak, Fried Chicken Cuban Style), steaks, fish and seafood, poultry, pork and rice dishes. The rice dishes are “for two” and are such a treat they require 45 minutes to prepare. Congas Cuban Café now offers weekend specials in both beverages and Cuban dishes.

Side dishes of note include fried green plantains, yuca with mojo, and mixed black beans and rice (which the Cubans call Moros y Cristianos - “the Moors and the Christians”). And don't forget dessert, especially the scrumptious flan with your choice of egg, cheese, or coconut.

The best way to end your meal at Congas Cuban Café is with a taste of that rich Cuban coffee—delectible! Plain Cuban coffee is available, as is Cortadito (Cuban coffee with a little milk). And if you enjoy lattés, be sure to try the Cuban version, Café con Leche.
