International Cuisine

Ready for a taste of the world?  Charlotte East is the place to sample the authentic foods of Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. This is the place to pick up a bite from a small taqueria or stop at a late-night diner, enjoy a full dinner from Thailand or Vietnam, Cuba, Italy, or the Middle East or... relax over the best of American cuisine.

A night on the town here can feel like an mini-vacation. And with affordable pricesat many of the area's restaurants, a night out doesn't have to cost you a week's pay!

Or come to Charlotte East to pick up the ingredients you need to make your own recipes --  from lotus root to wonton wrappers, from fresh tortillas to poblano peppers and mangoes. The area's many specialty shops are THE source in Charlotte for international cuisine.

A Shopping Adventure

The Eastway Crossing and Eastland Mall retail hubs, as well as a booming Central Avenue corridor make the area's vitality obvious. A wide array of retail stores, specialty shops and shopping centers testify to the area's cultural diversity. Whether you want name brand clothing from Belks and Dillards, tools from Sears, sporting goods and shoes, Chinese cookware, or special decorating items and home improvement necessities, they're all here.

Nearby, the Charlotte Merchandise Mart, Cricket Arena and Ovens Auditorium attract nearly four million people every year.

Improvements on Independence Boulevard , the traffic-and pedestrian-friendly streetscaping of Central Avenue and other major corridor improvements mean even more shopping opportunities are on the way.  You're sure to see the signs -- major developers and businesses are recognizing these opportunities in Charlotte East and are already starting to capitalize on them.
