Maureen Gilewski, CharlotteEAST Board Member, Treasurer and Chair of the Transportation Committee

A native of the small town of Minoa in Upstate New York, Maureen was transplanted into the Charlotte community in 1967 after her father took a new job. In 1972, she became a resident of East Charlotte, where she raised her own family and developed a strong bond with her local community. Maureen has always had a passion for helping others and since 2010, her love for her community has inspired her to be an advocate for change and improvement. She served one term as her neighborhood association president, has been a member of the CharlotteEAST board since 2012, and served two terms as past co-chair of CharlotteEAST. Through this organization, Maureen advocates for economic development and transportation options for the East community. When she's not volunteering alongside her fellow board members, you might find her spending time outdoors tending to her beautiful garden, cycling on our local greenways, or hiking in the North Carolina mountains.
