On June 27, 2017 the CharlotteEAST Board of Directors unanimously approved the process for CharlotteEAST to annually reinvest excess funds back into the East Charlotte community. The following recommendations were approved:

1. Our endorsements should align with our committee priorities.
2. Our endorsements should demonstrate our commitment to our community partners.
3. Our endorsements should provide visibility to CharlotteEAST's advocacy within East Charlotte.

Since the initiative's inception, $7,000 has been donated in CharlotteEAST’s name to support local nonprofits and initiatives. Past Recipients:

• 2021: All 32 Eastside CMS Teachers of the Year + Local Restaurants
   

• 2021: Garinger Education Foundation (personal funds from board members)
   

• 2020: Children of the World Learning  Center
   

• 2019: Foundation for the Carolinas: A Way Home Housing Endowment
   

• 2018: Simmons YMCA Summer Camp Program
