Community Building

KCB March 2022
  • United Way Community Quarterback: CharlotteEAST is pleased to serve as one of two community quarterbacks serving the Albemarle/Central corridor through the United Way of Greater Charlotte's United Neighborhoods initiative. Through United Neighborhoods, United Way is working alongside each neighborhood’s community quarterback, a lead organization that engages residents, builds local leadership and coordinates services among the funded nonprofits. We are pleased to serve the Albemarle/Central corridor in conjunction with ourBRIDGE for KIDS. Learn more here.

  • Monthly Community Meetings: CharlotteEAST hosts an "East Charlotte Faith, Nonprofit, and Community leader" virtual meeting on the  the second Wednesday of each month (3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.). These conversations are agenda-driven with news and updates from the forces working for the betterment of East Charlotteans.

  • Central Avenue cleanups: See here for more details; 2024 dates will be posted on our Community Calendar in early 2024.

  • Social Service Support: Have questions or need help with housing, utilities, transportation, immigrant services, legal support, or affordable healthcare? While CharlotteEAST is not a service provider, our team has extensive knowledge of the resources available in our community, as well as strong partnerships with the people who provide them.

  • Annual Community Reinvestment: On June 27, 2017 the CharlotteEAST Board of Directors unanimously approved the process for CharlotteEAST to annually reinvest excess funds back into the East Charlotte community.
