Community Engagement

The CharlotteEAST Community Engagement team is all about celebrating and connecting East Charlotteans. Our focus areas are:
-
Neighborhood Cleanups and Beautification: In partnership with Keep Charlotte Beautiful, we have "adopted" Central Avenue from Kilborne Drive to Albemarle Road. Three times annually, we bring the community together for trash cleanups. Our 2023 dates will be: March 4th, May 6th, and November 4th. Please reach out to Sandra McPhaul with any questions.
-
Business/Event Promotion: Have an East Charlotte business and want to get the word out about your services? Celebrating a groundbreaking or anniversary and want coverage? Reach out by filling out the form below and let us know!
-
Monthly Socials: On the last Thursday of each month, our team hosts community meetups at different spots throughout our community. To keep up with the dates and locations for 2023, subscribe to our Community Calendar here.
-
Monthly Community Meetings (Faith, Neighborhood, and Nonprofit communities): Building upon the foundation set by MeckMin, CharlotteEAST is now running the monthly "Eastside Leaders" virtual meeting on the the second Wednesday of each month (3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.). These conversations are agenda-driven with news and updates from the forces working for the betterment of East Charlotteans. Reach out to Greg Asciutto if you would like to be added to this mailing list.
-
Social Service Support: Have questions or need help with housing, utilities, transportation, immigrant services, legal support, or affordable healthcare? While CharlotteEAST is not a service provider, our team has extensive knowledge of the resources available in our community, as well as strong partnerships with the people who provide them. Please direct inquiries to Diana Martinez.
